BIO
Patrick was born in Leesburg, Virginia and raised in Edenton, North Carolina. His parents, Larry and Mary Jo, taught him to be a friend to all. After graduating from John A. Holmes High School in Edenton, Patrick attended the College of Charleston and obtained a degree in Political Science. His law degree followed from Elon University.
Upon graduation Patrick returned to work in Edenton, first in private practice and then as an assistant public defender for the first district of North Carolina. In private practice, Patrick focused on criminal and family law. As an assistant public defender from 2014 to 2018, Patrick represented clients in thousands of cases ranging from shoplifting to murder charges.
Patrick is known for his zealous advocacy of his clients.
In his personal life Patrick is very active in his community. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Chowan Arts Council and the George and Alex Memorial Scholarship fund. Patrick grew up playing sports in the Edenton-Chowan recreation department and gives back by volunteering as a coach for several youth sports. Patrick also enjoys golfing, spending time with his friends and family, and relaxing at home with his dog, Lavar.
